The fame and confession of the Fraternity of R.C., commonly, of the Rosie Cross : with a praeface annexed thereto, and a short declaration of their physicall work
An English translation of the Rosicrucian Fama and Confessio, issued with a preface by Thomas Vaughan and printed by J.M. for the London bookseller Giles Calvert in 1652, aimed at readers of alchemical and hermetic tracts. The pictures are woodcut factotum initials — T, W, S and others set in square blocks of foliage, vine scrolls and acorn forms, cut in coarse hatched line on visibly show-through paper, useful as drop caps or as texture for small ornament.
