Family records
A genealogical reference compiled by Ashworth P. Burke and published in London by Harrison in 1897, recording pedigrees and arms of British families for antiquaries and armorial researchers. The plates are line-engraved achievements: quartered shields with chevrons, lions, birds and fleurs-de-lis, crests on wreaths and torses, and ribbon scrolls carrying Latin mottoes, usable as crest ornament, badge outlines and banner shapes.
