A 1650 London edition of Arthur Dee's alchemical anthology, translated by Elias Ashmole and printed by J. Flesher for Richard Mynne, with d'Espagnet's Arcanum appended for readers of Hermetic philosophy. The plates are woodcut initial capitals — heavy black letters set in foliage, grotesque birds and scrolling vine — plus engraved work by Thomas Cross, usable as drop caps and ornament.
