Fine prints
A connoisseur's survey of etching, mezzotint and aquatint by the English critic Frederick Wedmore, published in London by George Redway in 1897 for print collectors and dealers. The plates are monochrome reproductions of old master and nineteenth-century prints — candlelit tavern interiors, hazy river and coastal landscapes, and French genre scenes with captions — printed in sepia and olive inks with soft tonal blur and visible plate borders, useful for aged-photogravure textures and vignetted backgrounds.
