Firenze antica, e moderna illustrata
A multi-volume antiquarian guide to Florence, its buildings, institutions and families, compiled by Vincenzo Follini and Modesto Rastrelli and issued by Florentine publishers from 1789 for local readers and travellers. The plates here are numbered grids of engraved coats of arms, shields filled with hatched stripes, chevrons, saltires, lions, horses, fleurs-de-lis and roundels, usable as heraldic line ornament, pattern fills and small badge shapes.
