[Five minatures of President Lincoln : reproductions from the rare collection of original negatives]
A 1909 Springfield, Massachusetts portfolio issued by Edward Bailey Eaton through the Patriot Publishing Company, reprinting Civil War negatives by Mathew Brady and Alexander Gardner as small plates offered to collectors and advertisers. The plates are sepia halftones of Lincoln in camp at Antietam: a line of officers before a wall tent, Lincoln in a top hat flanked by two men, two figures conferring at a table under canvas, and a seated studio bust portrait, useful for period figure silhouettes, tent shapes, and copyright-line lettering.
