Flags of the United States and foreign countries
A 1914 set of color flag plates issued by G. & C. Merriam of Springfield, Massachusetts as a supplement to Webster's New International Dictionary, for general reference use. The plates grid national, merchant, naval and jack flags in labeled rows against tinted grounds, with British colonial badges and state seals as roundels, supplying flat lithographed color fields, simple heraldic emblems and small caption lettering.
