Fleurs fruits & legumes du jour
A serial of hand-colored lithographic caricatures by Alfred Le Petit with text by H. Briollet, issued in Paris by the Bureau de l'Éclipse in 1871 for readers of the satirical press. Politicians and writers appear as pears, grapes, carnations and potted plants, or as spindly figures before mirrors, drawn in firm outline with flat watercolor washes over hatching.
