Florence
Grant Allen's guidebook to Florence, published in Boston by L. C. Page in 1901 for English-speaking travellers touring Italian art. The plates are halftone photographs of Tuscan panel paintings, frescoes and carved altarpiece frames, useful for Gothic tracery, gabled and pinnacled frame profiles, haloed standing saints and patterned tiled floors, all in soft grey tonal ranges.
