Flower children; the little cousins of the field and garden
A children's verse book by Elizabeth Gordon, published in Chicago by P. F. Volland in 1910, giving each garden and field flower a short rhyme and a child's face for young readers. The 89 plates are full-figure children costumed as single blooms, with petal skirts, leaf sleeves and flower hats, drawn in fine ink outline and flat watercolour on plain cream grounds, easy to cut out and reuse as spot figures.
