The flowers and gardens of Japan
A colour-plate garden book written by Florence Du Cane and painted by her sister Ella, published by A. and C. Black in London in 1908 for British readers interested in Japanese horticulture. The watercolours show stone lanterns, thatched gates, azaleas, chrysanthemums and maples against pale unpainted skies, offering soft pink-and-red floral masses, loose foliage edges and small kimono figures for scale.
