Flowers of the sky
A popular astronomy book by the English writer and lecturer Richard A. Proctor, issued in New York in 1879 for general readers rather than specialists. The plates are wood-engraved star maps printed white on dense black, with dotted lines joining constellation figures, plus solar-transit diagrams showing planetary paths lettered across a plain pale disc labelled THE SUN; useful for negative-space starfields, dotted connective linework and letter-keyed diagram marks.
