The follies & fashions of our grandfathers (1807) Embellished with thirty-seven whole-page plates including ladies' and gentlemen's dress ... sporting and coaching scenes ... fanciful prints, portraits of celebrities, etc.
A Victorian antiquarian compilation by Andrew White Tuer, published in London and New York in 1886, reproducing thirty-seven plates of English dress, sporting and coaching scenes, caricatures and celebrity portraits from the year 1807, aimed at collectors of costume and print curiosities. The plates are hand-coloured etchings in pale washes of blue, yellow and pink over fine stipple and line, showing Regency couples in tailcoats, top hats, bonnets and high-waisted gowns, useful for period costume reference, figure silhouettes and a soft aged-paper colour palette.
