Fors clavigera : letters to the workmen and labourers of Great Britain
John Ruskin's serial letters on work, economy and art, addressed to British workmen and labourers and issued by George Allen at Orpington, in an 1896 edition of the series he began in 1871. The plates mix woodcut-style flower clusters in dense black, fine outline drawings of leaves and serpents scored with scale patterns, and facsimiles of medieval charter script, useful for botanical spot ornaments, line-diagram botany and calligraphic lettering samples.
