Fors clavigera; letters to the workmen and labourers of Great Britain
John Ruskin's Fors Clavigera, a serial of open letters on work, money and art addressed to the labourers of Great Britain, issued by George Allen at Orpington through the 1870s-80s. Plates run from soft pencil drawings of girls in high-waisted frocks among scattered roses and a sunrise at sea to plain ink diagrams of lettered books and an engraved rose spray.
