Fors clavigera : letters to the workmen and labourers of Great Britain : Volume 3 & 4
John Ruskin's serialized open letters on work, economy, and art, addressed to British workmen and labourers and reissued in New York by Lovell in 1886. The plates are small black line drawings printed in the text: snail shells and bare logarithmic spirals used to argue about natural form, plus a foliate pen ornament, all usable as clean geometric motifs or spot decorations.
