Smikalla - Automatic Airplane, French Patent 398803 of 1909
A single sheet of drawings filed with French patent 398803 in 1909 by August Smikalla, submitted to the French patent office to register a flying machine with multiple rotors. Thin ink line work on aged paper shows plan and side views, banked propellers, wheeled undercarriage and small numbered detail figures, with handwritten inscriptions and stamped file numbers at the margins.
