A 1906 monograph on the Bolognese painter Francesco Francia, issued in Boston by Bates and Guild as part of the Masters in Art series for students, teachers and collectors of Italian painting. The plates are halftone reproductions of panel paintings — devotional Madonnas and saints, an Annunciation under a classical column, and half-length portraits of young men in caps holding letters or jewels, all set against hilly landscapes with slender trees.
