Francis Bacon and his secret society. An attempt to collect and unite the lost links of a long and strong chain
A Baconian-authorship and Rosicrucian argument by Mrs. Henry Pott, published in Chicago by F. J. Schulte in 1891 for readers following the Shakespeare authorship controversy and the symbolism of secret societies. The plates are numbered sheets of traced paper-mill watermarks: outlined jugs, vases and tankards bearing monograms, topped with crescents, crowns, fleurs-de-lis and beaded flower sprays, usable as uniform single-weight line motifs, monogram frames or emblem sets.
