Franc. Xav. Mannhart Societatis Jesu presbyteri quinque intimi consiliarii hominis Christiani
A Latin emblem book on the Four Last Things by the Jesuit priest Franz Xaver Mannhart, printed at Augsburg by Matthäus Rieger in 1765 for Catholic clergy and lay meditation. One engraved allegorical plate crowds a scrollwork cartouche with a scythe-bearing skeleton, scales of justice, a serpent ring and a small interior scene, while the rest are letterpress fleuron compositions — crowned urns, winged cherub heads and star-flower grids — usable as modular borders, headpieces and mortality symbols.
