Frank P. Milburn, architect, Charlotte, N.C
An architect's portfolio issued by Frank P. Milburn in Charlotte, North Carolina, in 1899, printed by the Queen City Printing and Paper Co. to show prospective clients across the American South his courthouses, commercial blocks, schools and institutional buildings. The 54 plates are halftone renderings and photographs of masonry buildings seen from the corner, with arcaded storefronts, turrets, hipped roofs and columned porticoes set against blank or lightly washed skies, useful for period architectural silhouettes, facade detail and street-level framing.
