Free-hand drawing : a guide to ornamental, figure, and landscape drawing
A drawing manual issued anonymously by "an Art Student" and published by W.P. Nimmo in Edinburgh in 1868, teaching ornamental, figure and landscape drawing to beginners and school pupils. The plates are printed as white line on solid black grounds — parallel and converging rules, lettered endpoints, angles and rectangles set inside ruled borders — giving designers reversed-out geometric diagrams, keyed alphabet labels and blank framed panels usable as backgrounds.
