FREEMASONS BIBLE
A Masonic edition of the King James Bible, its text dated to 1611 but its plates cut much later, illustrated for lodge and family reading with small captioned wood engravings of biblical antiquities. The pictures are line-cut vignettes — the Golden Gate at Jerusalem, an Egyptian chest from Thebes, a Nineveh relief of an ox and drover, a king being anointed — usable as compact framed spot illustrations and archaeological motifs.
