French engravers and draughtsmen of the XVIIIth century
A survey of eighteenth-century French engraving and drawing by Emilia Dilke, published in London by G. Bell and Sons in 1902 for collectors and students of print history. The plates reproduce rococo boudoir and salon scenes, pastoral landscapes with peasants and livestock, and vignette compositions framed by carved panelling, mirrors and swagged drapery, offering designers period interiors, costume detail and engraved tonal shading built from fine hatching.
