Friedrich Froebel's Education by development
An 1899 New York edition from D. Appleton of Friedrich Froebel's writings on kindergarten method, translated by Josephine Jarvis for American teachers and training schools. The two plates are a repeating Library of Congress bookplate pattern of eagle-and-seal roundels with circular lettering, and a line diagram of a children's garden divided into named plots ringed by bracketed lists of cabbages, cereals and oil plants \u2014 usable as tiling motifs and as a model for labelled plan drawings.
