Games and songs of American children
A folklore collection of children's games, rhymes, and singing games gathered and annotated by William Wells Newell, issued by Harper & Brothers in New York and London in 1903 for folklorists and general readers. The three images here are a dense pen-and-ink view of children romping through a snowy old-town street with banners and a fountain, plus two oval New York Public Library circulating-department stamps usable as ready-made ink roundels.
