John Claudius Loudon's monthly gardening periodical, printed by A. & R. Spottiswoode and published in London from 1826 for British gardeners, nurserymen and landowners. Wood-engraved cuts show massed tree groups in clumped outline, espalier and pruning diagrams of branch systems, and small landscape views of grounds and water, useful as compact vegetation textures and horticultural schematics.
