A 1907 Boston handbook on garden design and ornament by landscape architect Loring Underwood, issued by Little, Brown for American homeowners and garden makers. Halftone photographs, many sideways on the page, show balustrades, pergolas, clipped hedges, gates, urns, sundials and terrace steps in soft grey tones, useful as period garden furniture references and textured architectural backdrops.
