The garden of experience
A 1922 gardening memoir by Marion Cran, published in London by Herbert Jenkins for English amateur gardeners who read her columns and books. The plates are soft-focus halftone photographs of borders, paths, hedged enclosures, garden seats, sundials and tall trees, with a solitary figure for scale, useful for grey-toned foliage textures and hazy landscape backdrops.
