Gazette des beaux-arts
Gazette des beaux-arts was a French art review founded in Paris in 1859, written by critics and scholars for collectors, dealers and connoisseurs. Plates and in-text cuts reproduce early blockbook woodcuts, old-master figure groups, etched outdoor scenes and painted wall friezes with border patterns, useful for period ornament, silhouetted frieze panels and hatched figure studies.
