Gazette des beaux-arts
Gazette des beaux-arts was a Paris art periodical begun in 1859 and written for collectors, critics and artists, illustrating current exhibitions, old master holdings and archaeological finds. The plates are wood engravings and etchings after paintings, sculpture and preparatory drawings, heavy on draped standing figures, heads and antique fragments rendered in fine parallel hatching that reprints cleanly at small sizes.
