Gazette des beaux-arts
Gazette des beaux-arts was a French art periodical begun in Paris in 1859, written for collectors, critics and dealers and illustrated with reproductive prints after paintings, sculpture and drawings in public and private collections. The plates run from fine-lined etchings of landscape and crowd scenes to outline drawings of single draped figures and shaded views of carved reliefs, giving designers tonal engraving textures alongside clean contour figures that can be traced or enlarged.
