Gazette des beaux-arts
A French art periodical begun in Paris in 1859, written for collectors, curators and connoisseurs and illustrated with reproductions of old master drawings, paintings, prints and decorative objects. The plates run from chalk and wash studies of draped figures and grouped heads to pen sketches of winged figures and architectural ornament, plus flat elevations of tomb monuments with reclining effigies and framed relief panels, useful for figure studies, ornament motifs and drawn textures.
