Gazette des beaux-arts
The Gazette des beaux-arts was a French art review founded in Paris in 1859, written by critics and connoisseurs for collectors, dealers, and artists, and illustrated with prints after works in public and private collections. Its plates run from clean outline reproductions of frescoes and figure compositions to loose pen-and-ink nude studies and engraved rococo cartouches, giving designers linework at several densities, ready-made ornamental frames, and classical figure groups.
