Gazette des beaux-arts
Gazette des beaux-arts was a French art review published in Paris from 1859 for collectors, critics and connoisseurs, carrying engraved reproductions of paintings, prints, coins and decorative objects alongside its articles. The plates here include tall arabesque panels with canopies, trophies and scrolling foliage, enthroned allegorical figures, and a circular medallion diagram ringed with small narrative scenes and Greek lettering, useful for borders, panel frames and roundel layouts.
