Gazette des beaux-arts
Gazette des beaux-arts was a French art periodical begun in Paris in 1859, reporting on museums, exhibitions and private collections for critics, dealers and collectors. Its plates mix dense cross-hatched figure scenes, loose pen sketches of draped women and costumed period figures, and reproductions of prints and ceremonial crowd scenes—useful for line-drawing textures, drapery studies and engraved reference imagery.
