Gear's illustrated catalogue of wood and iron working machinery
A trade catalogue of wood- and iron-working machinery issued by A.S. Gear and printed at his own Boston office in 1872, addressed to shop owners, mill operators, and machinists ordering equipment. The wood engravings show lathes, planers, mortisers, and steam engines in three-quarter view on a blank ground, plus lettered sectional cutaways, with cast-iron legs, gear trains, and belt pulleys drawn in fine parallel hatching that reproduces well at small sizes.
