Geheime Scheidung der Metallen und derselben Nutzbarkeit
A German alchemical and metallurgical tract by Georg Christian Ittershagen, printed anonymously around Braunschweig in 1774 for readers pursuing the separation and uses of metals. The plates here are letterpress ornament rather than diagrams: woodcut headpieces with urns, garlands and a profile medallion, scrollwork bands with putti and foliage, and decorated initials framed by candlesticks and crowns, useful as period typographic furniture and border stock.
