Gemmae et sculpturae antiquae
A catalogue of ancient engraved gems and classical sculpture compiled by Leonardo Agostini, re-edited by Jacobus Gronovius with plates by G. van Houten, printed at Franeker by Leonardus Strik in 1694 for antiquarians and collectors. Each plate sets a single intaglio subject—profile heads, gods, mythological figures—inside an oval laurel or beaded border over an engraved caption, giving designers ready-made medallion frames and stone-cut portrait motifs.
