A genealogical and heraldic history of the landed gentry of Great Britain & Ireland
A reference volume of pedigrees and arms for British and Irish landed families, compiled by Sir Bernard Burke and edited by Ashworth P. Burke, published by Harrison in London in 1894 for genealogists, lawyers and county families. The plates here are wood-engraved trade advertisements for silver pocket watches with Roman-numeral dials and floral centres, a country house elevation with small strolling figures, and a cherub-topped scrollwork cartouche, useful as dial faces, rule-work ornament and architectural vignettes.
