The genealogist
A volume of The Genealogist, the antiquarian journal edited by George W. Marshall and issued in London by Golding and Lawrence with George Bell & Sons in 1879, aimed at pedigree researchers and heraldic scholars. The plates are folding letterpress pedigree charts of English families such as Dallison and Ayscough, built from bracketed rules, small-caps names and dense annotation, useful as ready-made diagram structures, rule-and-bracket systems and specimens of Victorian tabular typesetting.
