The genealogist
A volume of The Genealogist, the British genealogy and heraldry journal edited by George W. Marshall, published in London by Golding and Lawrence with George Bell & Sons in 1881 for antiquaries and family historians. The plates are typeset pedigree charts in which names sit inside grids of brackets, rules and vertical drop lines, useful as models for branching diagrams, tabular layouts and dense letterpress text blocks.
