Genio del cristianismo ; ó bellezas de la relijion cristiana
A Spanish translation of Chateaubriand's apologetic treatise Génie du christianisme, printed in Barcelona by C. y J. Mayol in 1842 for Catholic lay readers, with plates signed by the engraver J. Amills. The engravings are fine-line stipple and hatching scenes: a deathbed lit by a single candle, a caped allegorical figure rising on clouds with cross and chalice above seated personifications, and a friar preaching from a canoe to feathered islanders among palms; useful for neoclassical drapery, allegorical attributes, and ray-burst light effects.
