The geography of the heavens : and class-book of astronomy : accompanied by a celestial atlas
A school astronomy textbook by Elijah H. Burritt, revised by Hiram Mattison and issued by Mason Brothers in New York in 1860 for American classroom use. The wood-engraved figures are optical and geometric diagrams — lenses, prisms, mirrors, ray bundles, refraction angles, hatched globes and horizon arcs — with lettered points usable as line-art schematics or pattern fills.
