Geometry : the elements of Euclid and Legendre simplified and arranged to exclude from geomtrical reasoning the reductio ad absurdum : with the elements of plane and spherical trigonometry, and exercises in elementary geometry and trigonometry / /c By Lawrence S. Benson
A school geometry textbook by Lawrence S. Benson, published in New York in 1868, reworking Euclid and Legendre for American students along with plane and spherical trigonometry. The plates are line-engraved construction diagrams: circles crossed by chords, tangents and radii, right triangles with inscribed circles, all labelled with serif capitals, giving designers spare black-on-cream geometric figures and lettered point notation.
