Georgiae Montaneae, nobilis Gallae, Emblematvm Christianorvm centvria : cum eorundem Latina interpretatione = Cent emblemes chrestiens
A Protestant emblem book by Georgette de Montenay, engraved by Pierre Woeiriot and printed at Zurich by Froschauer in 1584, pairing a hundred Latin mottoes with French verse for devout readers. Each small copperplate sets a single figure—soldier, smith, prophet—in an open landscape of walled towns, hills and gnarled trees, under a banderole motto, with wind-blown clouds, hands and faces emerging from the sky.
