A survey of German, Flemish and Dutch painting revised by J. A. Crowe from Kugler's handbook, published by John Murray in London in 1904 for students and collectors of early Northern art. Reproductions are outline engravings and halftones after panel paintings and altarpieces: crowded figure groups in arched compartments, Adoration scenes, architectural backdrops, useful for medieval costume, gothic tracery and multi-panel layout schemes.
