Germantown Gardens and Gardeners
Edwin C. Jellett's 1914 local history of the gardens and nurserymen of Germantown, Philadelphia, published there by Horace F. McCann for readers of regional horticultural and biographical記 record. The plates are coarse-screen halftone portraits of nineteenth-century men in dark coats, white cravats and full beards, set in plain rectangular frames against mottled studio backdrops, useful for grainy dot texture, vignetted head-and-shoulders formats and period facial-hair reference.
