Geschichte der deutschen Plastik
A survey history of German sculpture by the museum director Wilhelm von Bode, issued in Berlin by G. Grote for art students and collectors. Plates are tonal engravings of carved stone and wood figures photographed against blank grounds — standing saints and Madonnas with heavy drapery folds, narrative relief friezes between foliate capitals, and canopied tomb effigies with shields — usable as isolated silhouettes, drapery studies, and Gothic architectural framing.
