Geschichte des Kostüms
Geschichte des Kostüms is a costume history by German art writer Adolf Rosenberg, continued by Eduard Heyck, issued in plates by Weyhe of New York in 1905 for artists, theatre designers, and dress historians. The plates line up full-length figures in rows on blank ground — eighteenth-century townsmen, soldiers, peddlers, and peasant women in tricornes, striped skirts, and cloaks — some outlined in pen, some flatly hand-coloured, giving cut-out figures for silhouettes, period wardrobe reference, and repeating friezes.
